Fall Earrings!

All year I have been waiting for the "Halloween" earrings (bats, spiders, ghosts, skeletons etc) to come back so I can stock up. I don't know where last year's all went. Into coat pockets and onto sidewalks I guess.

The nice girl at Tselaine asked where I got my ghost earrings, and I was embarrassed to tell her. But there was a 2 for 1 sale at Claire's.

Less One Kingdom

A bird moved in on our balcony. He lives in a hole, and we think there are baby birds in there, since if you are quiet you can hear "fee! fee! peep!"

Now all we don't have is amphibians. (ex. axolotl)

Crabby

I also got this bunch of crabs from the well-known poet, John Keats, who memorably said:

'Beauty is truth, truth beauty,—that is all
Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.'

They mostly live in a ziplock in my schoolbag, except for the fiddler crab, who lives in my pocket because he's asymmetrical and needs more love.

Watch your back!

I don't know what I like more, the giant sea scorpion, or the diagram.

They look like they're waiting for a bus.

I am finally getting the respect that I deserve from the scientific community

From Tanya, re my new taxonomy:

I will pass this along to the editors of 'Science'. It is of the uptmost importance that this revolutionary breakthrough in high level taxonomy be disseminated to the greater scientific community. Especially the Pumas/mammals that don't fuck around group.
I am, however, a bit concerned about the low placement of the crabs and crab things, since this group presumably contains the mantis shrimp, which are clearly awesome.

Science is about to be awesomeified.
